Who is 3rd Planet?
3rd Planet is a new media platform for the global tourism industry. We create interactive 3-dimensional replicas of major global tourism locations, complete with sounds and special effects showcasing a realistic environment which you can interact with even before you visit them.
You can virtually walk through & immerse yourself in the surroundings as though you are there in person. You can also find detailed information on each destination such as brief history, nearby places of interest and other tourism-related news so that you are better equipped with more knowledge & facts when you next plan your travel itinerary or destination to visit.

What is the "Journey to Everest"?
‘Journey to Everest’ is our inaugural project which we have partnered with the Nepal Tourism Board to bring you on a virtual tour of a myriad of remarkable destinations in Nepal. Nepal is a culturally rich country with the mystical Mount Everest and ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and is a dream destination to present to global travellers, outbound tour operators and travel agents.
The purpose of the project is to enable you to understand how 3rd Planet can help you preview destinations. This project will open in 2 phases, the first in December 2011 and phase 2 in 2012.

Should I sign-up?
The world is a big place with close to 500,000 tourist destinations. By signing up with us, it helps you keep track of what you have seen and what you have not. Optionally, we can also inform you when new destinations are available. Just give it a try by clicking here and decide for yourself!

Do I need 3D glasses to use 3rd Planet?
No. This is not stereoscopic 3D, but interactive 3D.
